William Levy sorprendió a nuestras conductoras

William Levy stars opposite Maite Perroni in ABS-CBN’s newest Mexican telenovela, Maria de Jesus, Ang Anghel sa Lansangan.

He was born on August 29, 1980 in Cojimar, Havana, Cuba. The oldest of three siblings, his family immigrated to Miami when he was 14 years old. Levy quickly became a star baseball player and eventually attended college to study Business Administration on an athletic scholarship.[1] He dropped out of college after two years to pursue acting and went on to study in Miami, Los Angeles, and Mexico City.

Career

Levy was first signed by Next Models, and later participated in two reality shows transmitted by Telemundo: Isla de la Tentación and Protagonistas de Novela 2.

In 2005 he performed at the Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan Puerto Rico, starring in the play La Nena Tiene Tumbao.

His first debut on the Spanish language channel Univision, was with the Venevision International production: Olvidarte Jamas. He later appeared in Mi Vida Eres Tu and Acorralada.

In 2008, he participated in his first film Retazos de Vida directed by Viviana Cordero. The movie was filmed in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

He was cast by television producer Carla Estrada, to star in Pasión. His performance was so well received, that Televisa later cast him as the lead in Cuidado con el Angel, with famed Mexican actresses Maite Perroni and Laura Zapata. The show was first broadcast in Mexico on June 9, 2008 and began airing in the United States on September 22, 2008 on Univision. It averages 4.7 million viewers per evening.

Levy is currently filming Sortilegio, with Jacqueline Bracamontes.

Personal life

In 2006, People en Español named him one of Los 20 Solteros Más Sexys. In 2008 he topped the list of Los 12 Hombres Más Sexys published by Mexican magazine Quién. In 2008 and 2009, he topped People en Español Los 50 Más Bellos list and has been referred to as a “Cuban Brad Pitt.”

Levy has a son, Christopher Alexander, with Mexican-American actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez.

In August 2008, paparazzi captured video of Levy, with his costar Maite Perroni in Acapulco.[7] The video sparked much controversy with the Mexican media, since it was believed that Levy was still in a relationship with Mexican-American actress, and mother of his child, Elizabeth Gutiérrez at the time. In September 2008, Perroni appeared on the Televisa show, La Oreja and did not deny the rumors of an alleged romance, sparking even more controversy.[8] That same week, Levy spoke to the program Televisa espectáculos, saying that the video of the pair in Acapulco was from when they were shooting scenes on location for Cuidado con el Angel and did not prove that there was a romance between him and Perroni, but that he was having problems with his girlfriend, Elizabeth Gutiérrez.
